We were elated to learn that Hitched was voted #1 bridal salon by Washingtonian Bride & Groom magazine for the second year in a row! We just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of the wedding industry professionals and brides out there who have cheered us on over the past few years. We truly appreciate all of your love and support!
A snowy backdrop, accents of silver and gold, gorgeous fur wraps... there are so many exquisite details that can be incorporated into a winter wedding! We were so thrilled to team up with some truly wonderful local vendors for a photo shoot with just one goal in mind-- to bring you all loads of winter wedding inspiration.
Our first set of inspiring photographs (by the incredibly talented Genevieve Leiper) is loosely themed around the holidays.
Check out these amazing floral arrangements by the lovely Holly Chapple. They're incredibly festive, but in a subtle way.
Our very own Hitched gal, Leigh Ann, wore a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown (with just the right amount of wintery sparkle), and the ever-so-elegant hair and make up was done by Victoria Stiles. Incredibly, Victoria was able to pull off four totally different, but totally spectacular looks in one day-- now that's talent! Check out the how-to hair and make up details she posted here.

With so much attention paid toward the gals' bouquets and the centerpieces, the guys' boutonnieres tend to fall by the wayside and quite often, they end up with a single rose pinned to their jackets. We're brimming with excitement here at the store, as a few of our Spring 2010 stock pieces have started to roll in! We always love opening a box that contains a brand new gown, and we get so excited to show them to our brides that sometimes we don't even pause to press them first!
We convinced one of our fabulous bridal consultants, Annie, to slip on some of the gowns to give our readers a sneak peek at some of the stunning dresses that have arrive so far.
These two photos are of the unembroidered version and floral embroidered version of the same gown by Anna Maier~Ulla-Maija. The seaming and architecture of the first gown is absolutely gorgeous, but if you're yearning for a bit more drama and detail, the flowers add a truly special touch.
OK, hand-embroidered flowers-- ready for your close-up?
We've always been impressed by designer Modern Trousseau's use of lace, but this gown is a real showstopper. It's a great shape (with just the right amount of structure), and the two-toned fabric gives it a vintage feel, really allowing the lace to stand out.
Oh, and did we mention the sash? We think it adds just the right amount of "wow!" factor.
We'll be sure to keep you posted as more new gowns arrive, as well as with details on our January sample sale blowout. After all, we've got to make room for all these new beauties!
