One of the things we love about working with brides on a day-to-day basis is that we get to meet all different types of women, each one possessing their own personal style. We ask lots of questions to help figure out what kind of dress each bride is looking for, but one other clue can sometimes be the engagement ring. Often the style of bling provides a few hints about the style of gown that a particular bride might gravitate toward. Check out these fabulous rocks and frocks!
The Ring - Emerald Cut: Even though this shape was developed for its namesake gem, diamonds sparkle with this linear cut. Accented by shimmering baguettes, the emerald cut often dons the hand of bride who is sophisticated, yet fuss-free.
The Dress: This Amy Kuschel gown is architectural and sleek. Perfect for the bride who is elegant and confident, and isn’t interested in frills and frippery.
The Dress: Anna Maier~Ulla-Maija is THE designer for the gal who wants some drama. This gown puts a twist on the classic ballgown, and the modern construction turns the volume way up.
The Dress: Modern Trousseau’s collection is known for the designer’s use of stunningly classic French Alençon lace. The slim silhouette of this gown is fitted yet flattering, and the accordion-pleated tulle insets in the skirt add a fun bit of movement to the dress.
The Ring - Bezel set: Bezel set rings (and other non-traditional settings) are increasingly popular in bridal jewelry because of their modern look. This bold setting isn’t for every bride, but is ideal for the woman who is looking for something truly unique.
The Dress: Oscar de la Renta’s designs have been wowing women for decades, though he decided to bring his perspective to bridal fashions just a few years ago. This silk faille and razmir gown juxtaposes architectural elements with soft femininity.
The Ring - Eternity Band: Lately we’ve seen lots of brides wearing eternity bands in lieu of a solitaire or three-stone ring. This vintage ring is timeless, but is a nice change from the expected.
The Dress: For the bride searching for that glamorous-yet-traditional look, this Judd Waddell ballgown updates a timeless silhouette with beaded lace accents.
The Ring - Oval Cut: Oval stones are a great choice for ladies who love the idea of a round diamond, but want a bit of added softness. This is another vintage cut that is seeing a surge in popularity – and for good reason!
The Dress: This silk organza Amsale gown is the epitome of romance. Draped layers of silk organza add softness to the bodice, with just a bit of sparkle from an embroidered brooch at the waist.
