Here's a post just for our DC Hitched ladies:
Halloween festivities, Jon Stewart-led-protests, and concerts, oh my! There's so much happening in DC this weekend, not to mention the Modern Trousseau Trunk Show at Hitched! Any bride-to-be with an appointment to try on gowns at Hitched this weekend should keep in mind the many events going on in the city when planning your trip to the store. We've been kept in the loop about several road closures that could affect your travel time getting to Georgetown, so we wanted to share them here to make your commute a little bit smoother. Feel free to call the store if you have questions, otherwise we simply recommend leaving earlier than necessary to give yourself a little bit more travel time. (And you can always grab a cup of coffee at one of the cafes near the store if all goes smoothly and you arrive early for your appointment!)
Beginning Friday, October 29, 2010, from approximately 8:00 pm, through Sunday, October 31, 2010, at approximately 1:00 pm, there will be several events taking place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with these events, there will be several street closures and parking restrictions that motorists should take into consideration:
Red Bull Sound Clash
This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2010. The following streets will be closed beginning at 8:00 pm on Friday, October 29, 2010 and should reopen by 5:00 am on Sunday, October 31, 2010:

• 300 block of Constitution Avenue, NW
Due to the extremely heavy pedestrian crowds associated with these events, motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when traveling in these areas. In addition, those wishing to attend these events are encouraged to use public transportation.
Rally to Restore Sanity
This event is scheduled for Saturday, October 30, 2010. This event will be held on the National Mall between 3rd Street and 7th Street. The following streets will be closed beginning at 6:00 am and should reopen by 6:00 pm:
