In lieu of Web Surfing Wednesday this week, we wanted to share another tip from our dear friends over at A. Dominick Events! The month is almost over-- so be sure to get your entry in for our Prove Your Love contest by March 31st. One lucky couple will win the incredible prize of a wedding planning package from A. Dominick's amazing team... so be sure to check out all the details here.
Fabulous Favor Ideas
We love to thank guests for celebrating with us at a wedding by setting out a local favor for them at the end of the evening. It's especially special if the favor ties into the rest of the day and says something about the couple.
For starters, we always find that something edible is a hit! A few of our favorite ideas are:
- DIY Pie in a Jar: For a summer wedding, put together a baked – or unbaked - pie for guests to pop in the oven
- A Monogrammed Cookie: Kendall’s Cakes made super cute cookies with the couple’s monogram for us a few months ago
- Custom BBQ Sauce or Jam: We have sourced both of these from vendors at the Dupont Circle Farmers Market who have made custom labels to go on the couple’s favorite flavor
- Milk and Cookie Bar: We have seen local caterer Design Cuisine create a cute set up with different types of cookies and milk, straws and even to go bags – yum!
There are also plenty of non-edible options that we think are equally fabulous!
- Set up a “Lucky in Love” table and support the District with a scratch off lottery ticket.
- After a night of partying, send guests off with Hangover Helper Kit by Gifts for the Good Life. They will thank you in the morning for the Water, Aspirin, Antacid and Sleep Mask!
- For couples with a killer band or for those who have an affinity for music, create a personalized wedding soundtrack with a custom CD.
Does anyone else have favor ideas that they love? Please share!

Thanks for this great post full of creative ideas! We also love the beautiful artisan tuile cookies we recently discovered from our friends at Skylar Hill Confections in Middleburg, VA - they can be customized to match any color palette and are super tasty!
